Good Friday 2005...And God's Winnowing Floor
I am a born again Christian. All things flow from that. Now, that being said I also need to add that I am a very poor excuse for a Christian. I certainly have feet of clay and am clear that I all too much human. I'm not terribly shy (could we imagine a blogger who would be? Well, on second thought, many can be brave where anonymity is fairly well guaranteed. Dad used to call that being brave in the living room. Depending on where they type, Dad never knew how right he was about bloggers).
Most would also call me a conservative. After much consideration (the obligatory minimum 14 seconds, as my Dad used to say), I'm doing all I can to drop the term conservative. A few years back a Christian related how a left winger was screaming "You Christians are trying to take over the country!" To which the Christian replied " Oh my,no. Not at all. We're taking it back."
I have no desire to conserve what's here. Why preserve a decayed body? As I said during the 2000, 2002 and 2004 campaign, my idea of liberty is not slowing down the growth of socialism and decay of liberty from a Wellstonian 189 mph to a mere 97 mph and call that conservative progress. I want freedom, liberty. And all the risks and responsibilities that liberty entails.

No one is safe from my observations...including me. Left wingers, right wingers anyone. The Savage Republican motto "Crushing liberals, left and right" is a warning that just being a Republican does NOT mean that one is a conservative... sorry, I mean liberty lover. Far, far too often I hear the term Republican and conservative used interchangeably. Can anyone say
I reserve the right to be wrong, incorrect, change my mind and tell you "Now that I think about it..." or "It appears that I was..." and the always pointed "What was I thinking, assuming that the mental process that I was involved with at the time could possibly pass for thinking?" Some of my most belly-busting laughs have been at my expense.
But, today is Good Friday and a deeper introduction can, and should certainly wait-

And what is this instituted government doing to protect the first listed of these self-evident, God endowed unalienable rights for Terry Schiavo? Many would say "Well, this is a complicated case and situation." Aaahhh...no. It's a very simple situation that's been made complicated. And the irony of the opening of the Declaration of Independence and the quote from John Adams regarding the Declaration (this is for all of you who keep carping that the Founders were deists and not Christians) :

And when we ALL appear before Jesus on Judgment Day, how will we give account for what we did, or did not do, for this innocent, vulnerable and helpless sister of ours?
